This appraisal is on Jane Doe who has been an employee in the department for the last 11 months. Jane has had many issues and complaints over the last few months. However, she has done a good job in accurately entering medical information in the records.
Jane Doe has a few weaknesses which may affect the organization. She is relatively slow in her work and this has affected the ability of medical records department to timely deliver correct charts within the facility. This has affected performance of other departments within the organization and has reduced the overall productivity of the organization. Jane also has poor team work skills because she has not been able to request her team members to help her improve speed or performance. Jane needs to improve on her speed and have better communication and interpersonal skills to help her be a more effective worker within the organization.

Jane Doe’s strengths include being keen in her work. It is because of her keenness that she has managed to correctly enter medical details accurately into the system. This has worked to reduce medication errors because healthcare professionals like doctors, pharmacists and nurses rely on the medical records on their decision making. By reducing medication errors, Jane Doe has helped the organization to improve on the quality of care outcomes for patients. Jane Doe’s keenness has ensured that she does not expose patient private medical records to unauthorized third parties (Fallon & McConnell, 2013).
Jane’s team members have been making complaints about her work and performance. The senior managers within the organization have also been raising complaints about the ability of the medical records department to file charts within the stipulated time. Jane has worked in the organization for 11 months. Complaints about her are not made very frequently, there are averagely one complaint every two months.
