Animals are very pivotal in people’s lives and the communities. For instance, animals are used for food production and pets used for companionship. The animal health management has been widely accepted in the fields such as biosecurity, wildlife, food production, and public health. This study is essential in the discussion of the applicable animal health maintenance strategies. Disease prevention and treatment approaches are essential to maintaining good health and protect animals from misuse. Animals are categorized in as domestic and wild animals. All animals have the rights to protection by certain individuals and organizations that are designed for the protection of all animals.
For instance, the UK government founded an executive agency named Animal Health that was responsible for ensuring all farmed animals in Great Britain were disease-free, healthy, and well taken care of. One of the key roles for the Animal health was the implementation of government policies that were aimed at managing or preventing outbreaks of critical conditions and diseases in the animals. In the implementation of the animal health agency, the UK government was able to protect the farmed animals’ welfare, support the farming industry, and safeguard the public as well from the critical animal diseases that may be transmitted to humans either directly or indirectly. In Wales and England, the Animal Health also worked to protect the public health through the enhancement of a sanitized dairy hygiene and meeting the egg production standards. This agency also regulated trade practiced in the endangered species through the use of a multilateral agency known as CITES. Thus, this agency is one of the influential and effective tools for the enhancement of animal health that protects the health of humans and the plants as well.

For instance, protection and management of animal health in the society is essential for various purposes. First, when the animal health is enhanced, the other nature that relies on the animals is safe and protected. For example, humans tend to rely on the animals for protection and security, food production, and for work. Various agencies have to work hard for the protection of animal health. Besides, animals are used by the plants for the production of carbon dioxide and manure alongside other products that essential for plant growth. Plants and the animals tend to benefit from each other mutually, and thus, enhancement of animal health is always essential for human and plants survival.
Farmers have the responsibility to keep animals healthy in all aspects. Furthermore, animals require to be treated well, and in case of a disease or any complication, they need to be treated using the applicable and recommendable forms. Vaccinations, deworming, and dehorning amongst other activities are amongst the veterinary duties that must be applied to the animals to maintain their health. In addition, it is apparent that the changes in the livestock production increase the potential emergence of new pathogens that are a threat to animal health. The animal care and health agencies and veterinaries have the duty to implement a more comprehensive approach such as the One Health Approach. This approach is essential in dealing with complex changes in the disease landscapes.
This approach greatly emphasizes on the protection of biodiversity, agro-ecological resilience, and the effective use of natural resources in the society to cater for the food supply chain to deal with poverty and animal disease. The efficient regulation of activities associated with animal health and protection against harmful activities and conditions such as poaching and complex diseases respectively. In this regard, I would recommend that all animal farms and bodies associated with the maintenance of animal health should enhance effective strategies and implement the One Health Approach to cater for the animal health requirements.
