In order to be successful on a standardized test, one must must have highly developed analytical skills; therefore, when it comes to standardized test, I am a person who reads slowly and deliberately in order to accurately analyze the material. On the converse side of test taking is the anxiety that is involved. I have experienced such anxiety and worry over improving my test scores. Practice exams, for me, do not present the threat of the actual exams, so I scored lower on those actual exams than the practice ones. It seems that the LSAT tried to thwart me at every turn. I studied with various test prep programs and even took the LSAT twice, but to no avail. I purchased the “Full Potential LSAT: Study Without Anxiety” from Amazon, but the seller never filled my order which was subsequently cancelled. I started thinking that maybe the LSAT is not a full measure of the potential success of a law student, and I began looking intrinsically to ascertain my viability in the law classroom.
It is a fact that I have been away from the academic arena for twenty years. However, over that period of time, I have gained experience in a variety of management, supervisory, retail, marketing, customer service, and distribution positions. I have a proven track record of using analytical skills to adequately problem solve and achieve results in high-pressured situations. Some of my success can be attributed to my strong interpersonal skills in building productive relationships with superiors, colleagues, and staff. Prior to joining the U.S. Postal Service, I obtained seven years of auditing, consulting, and educational experience with Coopers & Lybrand (today it is Price Waterhouse & Coopers); Mitchell & Titus, and other small auditing firms. Working with public accounting firms as an auditor and consultant provided me with knowledge of government auditing standards, generally accepted accounting and auditing principles, analytical techniques, and internal control reviews.

Given these accomplishments, coupled with a keen interest in continuing my career with the United States Postal Service as a lawyer, I am confident I would excel as a law student and help the Service meet or exceed its goals. Despite what the scores of my LSAT may say, I have the real world experience, job experience, disciple, and dedication to successfully complete law school.
