At the micro-sociological level, domestic violence amongst or against the LGBT community has been greatly affecting the community at the family level. In the American society, there are many LGBT families where violence is evident and intervention is needed. First, more civic education is needed to inform the victims of their rights and any steps that can be taken to save them from the oppressive lifestyle. Lack of knowledge encourages many to remain under the conditions over their lives. Secondly people need to learn more about the essence of interacting and having family friends and counselling. Counselling will enable the community to resolve differences better and live in harmony.
At the mezzo level, social groups such as LGBT dating and socializing organizations need to be more dedicated towards educating, encouraging and mobilizing the rainbow community members on how to deal with various issues affecting the community that can lead to LGBT. Many community members do not know how to peacefully resolve conflicts; hence they easily resolve to conflict. The groups also have to learn how to incorporate other services including LGBT counselling, divorce and other legal issues Having such services in the privacy of the groups will enable more participation and promote more peace in the LGBT community.

"Domestic Violence in The LGBT Community".
At the macro level, the government and other authorities need to increase social services and counselling, which infiltrates the communities and avail the services to where they are needed most. Secondly, the LGBT community should be empowered and given more opportunities so that the victimized members of the society can gain more confidence and strength to stand out and advocate for their rights. Marginalization of the LGBT communities contributes to the confinement to their own segregated world, where injustices can easily go unpunished. The whole society needs to embrace their presence, unique sexual orientation and abilities as individual persons to contribute towards community growth. This way, the violence will reduce and the victims will have a better opportunity to gain free fair and preferred treatment. Prevention of violence calls for society-wide interventions.
