Given his chosen media of the open streets, Müller’s work is vulnerable to weather and vandalism. Rather than attempt to fight back against the terrorism of rain, Müller’s philosophy is to “leave and paint a new picture tomorrow” (Amazing). Müller explains that “this is often the best thing the street painters can do, because even a few drops can destroy a picture in seconds which often needed days to be painted” (Amazing).

Müller’s specialty lies in large 3D scenic pieces that morph urban areas (Amazing). His tool of choice is washable paint and chalk, which means that each piece, no matter how large or how breathtaking, is mortal (Amazing). Müller’s 3D art frequently plays with the concepts of endless cliffs and running water, causing passersby to dodge around the edges of his art pieces, despite their being composed entirely of chalk on pavement (Amazing). Müller’s art focuses on several techniques of forced perspective, making existing objects appear larger, smaller, closer, and/or farther away based on the colors and painted objects around them (Edgar). Whether people skirt across the edge of one of Müller’s painted cliffs or distractedly walk straight through one of his painted lava pits greatly impacts his art, making passersby participants in the greater artistic piece.
