Rutgers University is a vibrant community of people who come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences; like those who have come before me, I too would serve to continue to enhance the community of Rutgers University. I say this not out of a sense of false modesty, but out of a sense of personal knowledge. Of the many people I have met during the course of my lifetime, I have travelled farther than most I know. Many people never leave the comfort of their own hometown, or if they do, never travel more than five to six hours away. I, on the other hand, have travelled to most of the contiguous United States, and have met individuals from around the world. My knowledge of different customs and the best way to interact with individuals in order to ensure that I am not only ready to meet all challenges sent my way, but to tackle any problem, never resting until it is solved, work to provide me with a unique method of viewing the world.
I am a born leader, always striving to take charge of any situation I am placed in, because at the end of the day, no matter how many friends I have, or who I have around me, I know that I and I alone am responsible for my actions. This mentality pushes me towards taking the lead in all things, for then I have no one to blame for my failures but myself. I volunteer whenever I find a cause that is worthy, and I strive to act in a culturally appropriate manner at all times, for my behavior reflects not only on myself, but on my country. I believe these characteristics serve to make me an invaluable addition to Rutgers University, and I look forward to studying here.
