The story of “A Good Man Is Hard to find” is valid on the statements; the story entire raises multiple religion issues that don’t appear all the way evident. The story tends to centre a particular character’s motivations and desires of brining about a specific custom, meant to reflect an individual’s inclination. Concerning, the story’s theme of Christianity, the narration has exposed things that people often get shy to talk of. As defined under the Christianity perspective, a good man is defined by good acts as portrayed biblically (Govier15). However, the story presents the perception of non-Christianity incidences and hypocritical characters. For instance, Misfit narrates that he understands that may be the worst man either. Misfit’s statement defines his inability to pray regardless of having been a gospel singer. He rather likens himself to Jesus. He only gave himself the name Jesus since his penalty doesn’t seem to fit the crime citizens said he consigned.
The indefinable description of a “Good Man,” the grandmother uses the term “good” aimlessly; hence creating a vague impression of its real meaning and expression. The grandmother first uses the term “good” at Sammy following his heated disagreements on the general undependability of individuals. Upon asking her the reason for letting two unfamiliar persons charge their gasoline, he’s obviously been swindled following the grandmother’s comment, referring him as a “good man.” Under the incidences, the perception of Christianity at the incidences defines a good man through trustfulness. The situation also defines a good man to be of poor judgment, and blind faith. None of these definitions are intrinsically “good” under the true meaning of good under the Christianity perspective. The grandmother next uses the term “good “referring to Misfit. After she identifies him, she asks him if he would be comfortable shooting a lady, a symbolism of an important part of what the grandmother believe moral. Misfit provides feedback that he doesn’t hold to the same moral code as she. She frantically calls him a good man, a claim that she entirely claims that’s he doesn’t have “common blood.”

Definitely, from the story, both Misfit and the Grandmother are recipients of grace, in spite of their imperfection, sins, and multiple flaws. As from the story, the grandmother has been more manipulative to his son. She is also perceived to be a liar to her grandchildren’s as she also always complains about the current and boasts of her pasts. The grandmother has no self-consciousness and always seems unconscious to the globe. Confident of her moral dominance, she considers herself the most efficient individual to judge the goodness of others and be the right human being to inculcate the society on their living direction. The grandmother also instructs Misfit to pray, regardless of her being unable to devise a logical prayer. But she expresses a change of mind about Jesus intensifying from the dead as the grandmother develops more fraud of what happens to her (O’Connor18).
The statement a good man is hard to find fulfills itself from the story as its characters posse’s features portraying their sinful nature. Misfit one of the characters presents an unrepentant belief. In some of the incidences, he is hypocritical regardless of inherent moral weakness. According to the Christian theological sayings, human beings have been offered deliverance through God’s grace or kindness that God generously bequeaths on even the least probable receiver. God has powers of allowing even bad and sinful individuals to go to heaven, which he does by providing grace to them (Harris10). As granted by God, grace settles both Misfit and the grandmother the potential of being saved.
