Mission Statement
I have spent years working on gaining knowledge in the business industry in efforts to achieve a successful position within the enterprise industry. The personal preference for this programme comes from the ability to deliver significant benefits. These benefits include the potential to provide skills and insights for better performance, and the privilege to learn and gain valuable knowledge. The ability to work with participants of vast nationalities while networking, discovering new cultural strengths, creating relationships, adapting to new ideas, and sharing personal experiences. Working with Dutch female business developers and entrepreneurs will set a new platform to learn from the expertise they bring with them. In addition to the personal knowledge that I bring to the programme, it provides significant opportunity to receive guidance and coaching towards developing my initiatives and immediate feedback and encouragement. Continuing at the Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands will provide added value to my efforts that are directed at empowering the highly disadvantaged women in small businesses in Nigeria.

Main Activities
The main activities will involve the development of the finance department. This includes the reduction of poverty, promotes financial inclusion, rural and agricultural financing. Empowering women while building their capacity through education and access to the entrepreneurship and finance development. Education is a key to dictating women’s personal future. There are many resources available to aid in this process. In that regard, the Department established the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund, which allocated 60% of its resources as low-interest rate credit to women-owned businesses. (See www.cbn.gov.ng). Educating women and providing resources will create a significant footing for future endeavors. It is vital to establish Entrepreneurship Development Centers across the country with the specific focus on women and their personal role in business. The Central Bank of Nigeria has vested significant support in the initiative of developing entrepreneurship programs. The focus is to promote entrepreneurship development, skills acquisition training, and provide direct access to financing primarily for start-up business.

Relevant Knowledge
It is vital to understand that knowledge is essential to the success of any candidate, whether that be man or women. Women are equipped with a vast amount of skills and or desire that would aid in their personal business success. The issue is that the knowledge of getting to the desired point is not always available. The utilization of various training and international exposures created significant boost in confidence and broadened personal skills. The purpose was to strengthen personal ability and commitment to policy propositions and quality service. Continued training and networking both locally and internationally creates significant exposure to obtain new knowledge that can be shared with others. Business is not sequestered to local entities; therefore it is vital to learn from others errors and success. I also was able to participate in the “Women Leadership Development workshop” in Atlanta USA in 2014; the International Conference on “All African Women Development” in Paris, France, in 2013. The knowledge of these programs provided significant insight into women’s business internationally. In addition in 2012 I was Awarded Scholarship to attend the “Strategic Leadership for Microfinance” programme, organized by the Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. The added value and much-needed knowledge of women empowerment provided by the Women Entrepreneurship Promotion (WEP) programme will add to the necessary knowledge to take women’s empowerment back to Nigeria. The basis of education has armed me with the ability to see that further education is essential to the overall personal goals and the desire to help other women in the business world.
