My primary learning style is musical. I have determined it by answering a set of questions provided in a free learning style profile at the website www.acceleratedlearning.com. My strongest intelligence is musical intelligence, which means that I am strongly interested in music, good at rhythm and rhyme, have natural rhyme, and able to think in rhythm. Also, as I learn, I prefer using the auditory senses.
On a broader scale, musical learning style refers to auditory or sound learning style. This is one of three major learning styles. I best remember and learn things through sound, which means I best learn new information when I hear. As for my musical intelligence, it helps learn vocabulary when I need to learn some in a foreign language. For example, I may associate some words with rhythm. Besides, I concentrate better when some soft music is playing in the background.

Prior to doing this activity, I was not sure about my primary learning style. I love music and generally I am a musical person, but I did not think there is such learning style which corresponds with my natural musical ability. I actually thought that my learning style would be something like hearing or listening. This is close to musical learning style, so I was not much surprised about the outcome of the test.
I will use the information about my primary learning style in various ways. First of all, it has helped better know myself: I can now surely state I am musical learner, and this is helpful in selecting the method of studying. For example, I would rather record lectures and then listen to them than jot down the material in the lecture and then read it. However, the test has also exposed a number of other interesting things about my learning style specifics. In particular, it showed my weaknesses, i.e. those intelligences that I am to develop. This is, first of all, linguistic learning style, i.e. ability to adequately deal with words, effectively read and write. It is important in the overall IQ development.
Further, my weakness is visual or spatial learning style. I am not good at visualizing and remembering by the look of something. Therefore, I need to develop the skills of visual perception, visual memory, and navigation.
Besides, I need to develop my interpersonal skills, so that I will be able to persuade people, teach them some things, and read their moods, and adequately respond to them.
Moreover, I will need to develop my skills of self-analysis and ability to draw adequate conclusions from my experience, ability to set achievable goals and create good plans.
Although I do not expect that my future occupation will be closely related to naturalistic competency, I think I will need to focus on developing some of this. This will mean learning more about environment and its problems, evolutionary processes, etc.
Also, I am not bad at sport and dance, so I can say that the physical learning style can sometimes be useful for me. This is about kinaesthetic learning. I feel I need to develop skills of my learning from field work or other practical experience.
Finally, my mathematical intelligence is quite high, because I am good with numbers and proceed well with logical and step-by-step explanations. Still, I will need to develop my mathematical or logical abilities if I wish to raise my IQ.
This information will help me focus on necessary study areas while participating in the program. Also, I will use those tools and habits that are helpful for musical learners. These are listening to information, repeating it aloud to memorize, listening to the soft background music while learning, etc.
