Introduction
The invention of the automobile remains one of the most important inventions of man, new iterations with small or having new technological improvements have been released yearly in the automotive industry. Transport remains an essential requirement due to the daily need for travel either for social, business or personal reasons, consequently, there is always a need for comfort in the transport industry as companies compete in the design of ergonomic public transport vehicles to attract more commuters (Pheasant & Haslegrave, 2016). Anthropometry measures are critical to the design considerations by engineers as the data can be used in designing more comfortable transport system. According to Samuel et al. (2016) designing transport vehicles with the use of Anthropometric data has significant positive impact on the safety, comfort and general health of not only the human operator but also the commuters using the automobile. This paper seeks to provide an analysis of the anthropometric measurements, bus dimensions and the relevant population for which the factors would provide the best ergonomic fit.

The data used was at the 95th percentile so as to cover a better part of the population, dimensions in centimetres.
Designing for comfort in a bus would require that the above dimensions be used in designing the interior of the bus.
Discussion
Using Anthropometric Measurements is critical in creating an ergonometric environment within the bus. Measures such as structure have a direct impact on the height clearance of the bus to avoid passengers stooping in the bus. Buttock to knee and thumb to tip measurements are important in designing the leg clearances between the seats, the difference between the two values can give an indication of the number of seats a bus can accommodate (Gumasing & Cruz, 2018). Designing the height of the seat does not necessarily require that the 95th percentile in the male category be used, for this case we can use 50th percentile in women’s category.in designing the luggage compartment, the women’s 50th percentile can also be used as the standing height clearance in the buss uses the measurements for 95th percentile in the male population data. The seat width should be able to accommodate the largest of the passengers at any time, by taking the 95th percentile in men’s shoulder breath as it’s higher than that of women, this condition can be met (Bonostro et al., 2017).
Conclusion
From the above data it is evident that there is a real correlation between anthropometric data and its use in the design of buses. Using the 95th percentile measure would allow us to design a bus that would fit a significant part of the American population. While it is important to use the Anthropometric Measurements collected in the design, a balance between number of seats and space within the bus for economic viability to the companies. While the design only accounts for the basic elements of the bus it is possible to developed parts that use other Anthropometric Measurement for maximum comfort, the data could be used in the design of arm rests, head rests.
