We are living in an era of unprecedented technological advancements. It could even be argued that we are currently experiencing the next industrial age because we are reimagining almost all the ways we have done things before in our personal and commercial endeavors. Not only we are communicating and learning differently, we are even making things differently, often with raw materials we have invented not long ago. These are only few of the reasons my first choice is Compter Engineering and my second choice is Computer Science with a minor in Business Administration at the University of Southern California (USC).
I have chosen Computer Engineering because computing technologies are playing a vital role in creating the next generations of raw materials and products. Our priority is to make materials that are not only lighter but also more durable. More than anything else, they should be good for the environment. We expect to completely re-invent how we many things in the coming decades, from food packaging and clothing to cars, buildings, and even bridges. I am excited by the opportunity to become part of this new industrialization era. My second choice is Computer Science with minor in Business Administration because I like to solve problems as both of my major choices indicate. I hope to pursue entrepreneurship with an emphasis on social change because I want to make a positive difference in local and global communities.

USC is an easy choice for me because it offers one of the most esteemed academic programs in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, and Business Administration in the nation. The university’s huge diverse student body will allow me to learn from other students and expand my thinking horizon. In addition, the university’s strategic location in Los Angeles will give me access to internship opportunities at a huge number of business, technology, and design companies. I am excited to begin the next chapter of my life at USC.
