There are many revolutionary concepts that create the discourse of the Industrial Revolution. First, the mechanical components that joined the manufacturing of many products could be considered revolutionary in the sense that many of them modified the work process to an extent that jobs were changed and ways of building things changed from the way they had been done for a long time – sometime decades, sometimes centuries.
Also, the changes that occurred during this period were not limited to industry. The Industrial Revolution affected all aspects of organized society – the financial, social, emotional, interpersonal, and political aspects were all affected by the dealings of this period. Population growth occurred, communicative practiced changes with the advent of the telegraph and then the telephone, electricity appeared, and advances in science and medicine happened. All of these could be considered revolutionary aspects of the Industrial Revolution.

This is not a counter-revolutionary movement. It does not counter the outcome of the Civil War in the United States or the Franco-Prussian War in Europe or counter the fascist movement either. While some might argue that there has been counter-revolutionary struggles since the birth of the Industrial Revolution, there is no evidence that an effective malignment of the technological, mechanical, social, economic, or political advances spurred by the Industrial Revolution has occurred.
The revolutionary aspects of the Industrial Revolution have made possible the building of bigger and better structures, the development of less time-consuming ways to live daily life, and methods of creating power for everything from boats to lights. Countering these types of activities would seem rather counter-productive, and while the critique of the Industrial Revolution should include discussions about the benefits as well as the drawbacks of it, ultimately, the revolutionary aspects of it should stand as a testament to the ingenuity of the human race.
