Joining the Honors College has always been my dream, and that I why I wish to apply for a vacancy in your reputable learning institution. Your institution shall mold me to become the physician I have always dreamt of, and then serve my community.
In pursuit of my dreams, I volunteered at the Texas VA Hospital in Amarillo, where my mom was doing her residency in by helping the doctors with filing paperwork and other duties. I enjoyed helping patients in the hospital seeing that, a large number of them needed more than the doctor’s attention. Being around patients developed the urge to be in the medical field and hence developed the passion for the medical field. In the year 2011, I volunteered at the Shannon Grey Rehabilitation Center where I spent more than 40hours helping the elderly. The main agendas of the voluntary service were playing games such as bingo, moving them to their different activities, and just talking to them. My passion for the medical field grew each and every day such that I volunteered in other different health institutions where I learned new things every day. Also, the helping aspect made me realize that the medical field was meant for me and hence decided to pursue the medical field as part of my school work.

In high school, I have been pursuing different units that relate to the medical field to help me achieve my dream of becoming a physician. The results of my high school work make me a competent candidate for Honors College. The aggregate points for Biology and psychology are commendable seeing that the score amounts to 4 and 5 points respectively.in addition, the aggregate point for the other subjects are commendable since they are in the same bracket of 4 to 5 points. I have been studying the Honors anatomy and physiology NCVPS and the Honors Sociology. These study units have set the platform for understanding some basics related to my career hence making me a potential candidate to join the Honors College. Also, the other study units prepare me for my career choice.
My academic goals are to achieve the best in my exams and also acquire the relevant academic skills required for my career field. However, I feel that lack of the honors would limit my ability to achieve my personal goals. My target is to achieve the top most aggregate points in my school work and acquire first class honors once I join college. Personal goals are also aspects that I hold on to achieve my dream career. My main personal goal is to see the development of a healthy society that practices hygiene. Unlike where I was brought, I would like to ensure that patients take the best diagnosis and treatment. Also, being a medical physician, I would like to ensure that I attend to patients as first as possible and give competent treatment and prescription according to their infections. Also, I would want to advance my career such that I can enhance the discovery of targets for various diseases hence reduce the rate of mortality.
Participating in the Honors College will be a very important opportunity to achieve my goals, seeing that I will put the theoretical work into practice and hence learn. Moreover, I will meet with other people with the same ideas, therefore develop our skills, formulate new ideas related to our field and achieve the academic and personal goals. Also, the ECU shall give me the opportunity for talent discovery with the competent tutors and abundant learning materials.
