Ever since I was in my early teens, I wanted to become a nurse. This seems to be my destiny, as right from that young age I was inspired by a close family member who had been a nurse for many years. My career goal started to materialize and take shape when I enrolled on the accelerated program for the diploma in Practical Nursing (LPN), and I am really enjoying the program, and working very hard to achieve high grades.
My character is directed by having a good sense of ethics and doing what it right. My determination is directed by a drive to fulfill my quest to be in a rewarding profession that I know will be my life’s work. I want to enter my chosen career field because I have always had a caring and compassionate personality and outlook, am an excellent team player, have good communication skills, a good eye for detail, and am dedicated and patient. It will be my honor to be able to contribute to society and serve patients in a hospital, clinic or long-term care setting.

The scholarship from the Foundation would allow me to follow my career pathway, something that is very important to me. And as nursing is set to be even more in demand, I know that I will be able to find long-term employment. As my family have been struggling since the banking crisis, they are not in a position to help me with the college fees.
